My Professional Areas of Expertise and Training
My professional areas of expertise are in researched-based Interventions, Neuropsychology, Neurofeedback, Gottman Couples Counseling, Affair Recovery, S.A.F.E. E.M.D.R., Emotionally Focused Therapy (E.F.T.), and Core Values Index Counseling (CVI), and Anxiety/Depression Symptom Reduction.
What I’m Passionate About
I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families looking for tools to navigate complicated relationships, traumas, and deep-seated personal issues. I believe that healing can be accomplished through improved emotional attachment, connection, and action-oriented goals.
On a personal level, I have been married for seventeen years, and I’m the mother of two adventurous and fun-loving teenage sons. I love my family, friends, a good cup of coffee, a well-written book, and being involved in my church. I am originally from California, but I have lived all over the North West and currently live in Kalispell, Montana. I love being outside whenever it’s not raining or snowing and sometimes even when it is, and I am currently developing a new love for paddle boarding.
I love what I do. It is out of my love and respect for the people I work with that I endeavor to create a safe and empathetic space where clients can process and explore their feelings around Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Abuse, Addiction, Grief or Loss, Self-Esteem, Spirituality, Infidelity or Affairs, Separation or Divorce, Addiction, Mental Health Concerns, Financial or Employment Difficulties, and Family Conflicts. I believe that anything in life can change with hope, desire, and perseverance!
My View on Spirituality and Faith
As a Christian, I believe that people are comprised of psychological, physiological, relational, and spiritual aspects. I also think that you are made in the image of God and are, therefore, uniquely valuable. Spiritual Integration in the counseling process is something that I believe brings significant change! If integrating your faith is something you desire to incorporate into the process, it would be a joy for me to do so! If not, then that is, of course, fine as well!
Continuing Education and Supervision
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with the State of Montana (#BBH-LCPC-LIC-55483.) and a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Oregon (#C6599). To maintain my license, I am required to participate in ongoing continuing education every year, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to my clients.
